Man Killed When Car Hits Pine Tree
A 39-year-old Simi Valley man was killed early Saturday when he lost control of his car and it slammed into a pine tree in Beverly Hills, authorities said.
Michael Irwin McBride was driving south about 1:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of Coldwater Canyon Drive when his 1997 Ford Taurus hit the tree, said Beverly Hills Police Sgt. John Edmundson.
McBride was traveling alone and authorities said it was unclear where he was headed at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash was under investigation, Edmundson said.
