Porter Still Waiting for Review of Status
Auburn will prepare for Friday’s Southeastern Conference tournament without suspended star Chris Porter because the investigation into his dealings with an agent still isn’t completed, Coach Cliff Ellis said.
Auburn officials have been investigating the situation since Porter was suspended Feb. 27 for accepting money, but over a week has passed and the school has yet to turn its report into the NCAA.

Bob Donewald, coach of Western Michigan’s men’s team for 11 seasons, has been reassigned as a special assistant to the athletic director. . . . Milton Barnes was fired as Eastern Michigan’s men’s coach after a 15-13 season during his fourth year. . . . Indiana University fired women’s coach Jim Izard after a 10-18 season.
