School District Seeks Employees at Job Fair
RESEDA — The Los Angeles Unified School District is holding a job fair today at Reseda High School for anyone interested in teaching as well as nonteaching positions within the 711,000-student system.
The three-hour event, which begins at 10 a.m., will allow potential employees to ask district officials questions about job opportunities as well as fill out applications. No jobs will be offered on the spot, said Anna Gehart, a district administrative assistant, who is helping to coordinate the job fair.
Gehart said it is difficult to estimate the number of job openings, because positions are constantly being filled.
“We’re always recruiting,” Gehart said. “There is always a need.”
Among other positions, the district is seeking teachers, substitute teachers, teacher assistants, carpenters, gardeners, heating and air conditioning fitters, special education trainees, food service workers, and clerical and administrative aides.
Several hundred people are expected to attend.
The event, at 18230 Kittridge St., is sponsored by the Birmingham/Cleveland/Reseda cluster.
