The average price of gasoline in Southern California continued its rapid ascent, increasing 27.2 cents in one month to $1.701 for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. The club’s monthly Fuel Gauge Report, released Tuesday, is based on a survey of 2,800 gas stations.
