Weekend Voting
Super Tuesday was for me a super-busy weekday and, despite my best intentions, I missed voting by minutes (an uncertain location in a large shopping mall didn’t help). If only we could vote on a Super Saturday or Super Sunday.
If this country can manage the coming shift of a sizable chunk of the electorate to cyberspace voting, it can find a way to move in-the-flesh voting to the weekend, following the lead of our more socially advanced European friends. This would make U.S. voting a true civic event, with a higher voter participation--and not the harried add-on to over-stressed weekdays and the gentry-only-voting vestige we suffer with now.
