Hall to Become Collectors Universe CEO
Collectors Universe Inc. said Chairman David G. Hall will take on the additional role of chief executive when Louis M. Crain leaves at the end of the month.
The company also named Chief Financial Officer Gary N. Patten to the additional post of president.
Collectors Universe, a Newport Beach provider of services to collectors and dealers of coins and sports memorabilia, said Crain will remain a director. Crain, who became president and chief executive in January 1999, also signed a long-term consulting agreement to provide technical assistance for Internet infrastructure and Web site development.
Collectors Universe also said it formed three business sectors and named a president for each unit. Stephen H. Mayer will be president of service, Michael Sherman will head commerce and B.J. Searls will take charge of content.
The company’s stock closed at $7.25, up 50 cents a share, in Nasdaq trading.
