In the Michelle Carew tournament final:
No. 1 Foothill 15, No. 8 Esperanza 0--Courtney Fossatti had four hits, four RBIs, struck out seven and pitched a two-hitter as the Knights (26-2) won the final of the rain-delayed tournament. Autumn Champion also had four hits in Foothill’s 21-hit attack. Esperanza is 17-8.
In the Golden West League:
Ocean View 5, Westminster 0--Chrystina Cruz (2-4) threw a one-hitter and earned her first shutout for host Ocean View (7-16, 4-6).
Santa Ana 8, Saddleback 6--Rebecca Burt hit a two-run single, part of a three-run fourth inning for host Santa Ana (10-10, 7-3).
In the Serra League:
No. 2 Mater Dei 3, Santa Margarita 0--Freshman Garland Cooper singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to end Tia Bollinger’s no-hitter. Bollinger (25-1) struck out 11 for the visiting Monarchs (26-1, 4-1).
No. 4 Rosary 6, Lakewood St. Joseph 5 (8)--Freshman Lindsay Nuckolls singled in Christa Arriaga, who had three hits and two RBIs, in the top of the eighth for Rosary.
In the South Coast League:
Trabuco Hills 1, Mission Viejo 0--Genvielle DeCicco hit a solo home run in the top of the third for visiting Trabuco Hills (13-12, 7-1), which clinched at least a tie for the league title. The Mustangs were 0-10 in league last season and won their last title in 1988.
In a nonleague game:
Brea Olinda 3, Irvine 1--Junior Erin Hessman hit a two-run home run in the first inning and senior Tiala Tagaloa had two of host Brea Olinda’s (10-11) four hits.
In the Century League tennis finals:
Nguyen wins--Canyon junior John Nguyen won his second league title, defeating John Goss of Foothill in singles 6-2, 6-0 at Ridge Pine Country Club.
Foothill’s Jeff Barry and Kyle Roybol defeated Canyon’s Kevin Samon and Travis Kula, 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 for the doubles championship.
In the Serra League finals:
Buchanan wins title--Servite’s Patrick Buchanan defeated Garrett Snyder of Santa Margarita, 6-3, 6-1 to win the singles final.
Santa Margarita’s Ryan Benson and Robbie Lamour defeated top-seeded Mark Brown and Nathan Desa of Mater Dei, 6-0, 6-2, in the doubles final.
In nonleague boys’ volleyball:
No. 2 Corona del Mar 3, No. 4 Newport Harbor 1--Greg Stampley had 27 kills and Kevin Hansen had 70 assists for the Sea Kings (17-1). Billy Clayton had 28 kills for the host Sailors (13-5).
