Ifilm.com Expands Site to Lure Movie Fans

Moving to become a “portal” for film content on the Internet, Ifilm.com plans to unveil today an expanded site that will direct users to entertainment offerings elsewhere online.

The Los Angeles company said it has formed the first comprehensive online directory of short films, with links to more than 4,000 titles. Ifilm.com itself has one of the largest online libraries of short films, with more than 1,000 titles. But to bolster its portal strategy, it said it has formed partnerships with other sites, including Icebox.com and Wirebreak.com.

“Every week there are dozens of sites adding hundreds of new films on the Web,” said Kevin Wendle, chief executive of Ifilm. “Until now, there was no single place to find all the best films.”
