SAN CLEMENTE
Metrolink is scheduled this week to conduct annual maintenance work on an Orange County rail line used by Metrolink, Amtrak and Burlington Northern-Santa Fe, a freight train service. Work will be done in San Clemente on either Thursday or Friday between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. The line runs parallel to the beach through the city.
The hours were chosen to avoid disruption to passenger trains, said Metrolink spokesman Francisco Oaxaca.
Oaxaca said the work will be noisy and may inconvenience residents and businesses.
