FOUNTAIN VALLEY
The Orange County Water District, based in Fountain Valley, approved an increase in the cost of ground water from 30 cents to 33 cents per 1,000 gallons. North and central Orange County residents will experience an increase of about 10 to 30 cents a month, depending on usage. The rise in the price of ground water came from increased amounts of imported water and the need to fund projects to put more Santa Ana River water into the basin and improve local ground water.
