LAGUNA BEACH
The Laguna Beach Board of Education at its meeting today will consider appointing an advisory committee to help improve curriculum diversity in the district.
The committee, if approved, would assist the board in its attempt to add a more diverse perspective to next year’s proposed history and social science curriculum.
The board tabled the curriculum at its last meeting, when President Eileen Walsh said the proposed curriculum was “white supremacist.”
Proposed textbooks intended to accompany the proposed curriculum are on display for public review in the district’s administrative office, 550 Blumont St.
The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at the office. For more information, call (949) 497-7700.
