City officials are considering building a Wall of Fame to honor local youths who have shown success in academics, music, extracurricular activities and sports.
The Parks and Recreation Commission has assigned a group of people to study the proposal. Group members would also set up the criteria for selecting honorees.
“We have honored all the sports successes from our city,” said Stephen Pischel, director of community services. “This will also recognize folks who haven’t gotten that level of recognition.”
He said he expects the wall’s design to be completed by the summer’s end. Construction could begin in September.
