The city plans to begin its conversion of Casa Romantica into a cultural and educational center after regaining control of the local landmark this week.

Casa Romantica, the home of city founder Ole Hanson, has been used as a wedding site.

The $2-million project will modify the landmark to accommodate local and regional history, small-scale concerts, performances and lectures.

A section will be reserved as rental space for weddings, meetings and other events. There will also be new gardens and terraces.
