* Classical--The New West Symphony will present its season-ending concerts in Thousand Oaks and Oxnard. Program: Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 in G; Schubert’s Symphony No. 8; Adam’s “Lollapalooza.” Guest artist, soprano Jessica Tivens. May 19: Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. * Community--The ninth annual Simi Valley Street Fair will be held May 20, from Cochran to Eileen streets, offering artisan and vendor booths, entertainment and assorted demonstrations by police K-9 units, karate groups and more. Hours: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Free. 526-3900.
* Berry Fete--The California Strawberry Festival will return May 20-21 to College Park in Oxnard. The 17th annual event will be another big affair with lots of entertainment, arts and crafts, contests, food and more. Live music headliners will include Los Lobos, Otis Day & the Knights, the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Starship. Hours: 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. both days. The park is at 3250 S. * Native American--The Lake Casitas Intertribal Powwow, to be held May 20-21, will feature more than 50 North American tribes performing traditional music and dance. There also will be arts and crafts booths, living-history reenactments and contests. Hours: May 20, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; May 21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. $7 general; $4 children 5-11; ages 4 and under, free.
