Gulf War
* Re “The Gulf War Brought Out the Worst in Us,” Commentary, May 22: Robert Jensen is wrong calling what our military did “crimes.” The killing of Iraqi soldiers was tragic, because most of them were draftees who were forced into the military. For political reasons we could not target Saddam Hussein. Congress should have enacted a law allowing our military to eliminate Saddam, which would have saved tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi lives.
