FULLERTON
Young thespians from Rolling Hills Elementary School clinched first place in the annual theater competition held by the Orange County Department of Education.
In an awards ceremony this month, 115 student actors were honored in the 20th annual contest, in the musical division, for the primary and upper elementary grade levels.
About 50 Rolling Hills students in first and third grade were recognized for their production of “The Pied Piper” in December. The remaining children, all fourth- and fifth-grade students, won for their lyrical rendition of Mark Twain’s “Tom Sawyer.”
