Fetters Expected to Be Activated

The expected activation of right-handed setup man Mike Fetters from the disabled list should occur before tonight’s game against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies.

Fetters, who was suspended for four games for his role in last week’s melee at Wrigley Field, has been on the disabled list since May 10, retroactive to May 4, with a sore right elbow.

Was there any real doubt that Jaime Jarrin’s contract to remain the Spanish voice of the Dodgers would not be renewed?

Jarrin, who has been calling Dodger games since before they moved into Chavez Ravine, is as much a part of Dodger lore as fellow Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully.

“It’s a great feeling to know that they want you,” said Jarrin, who Wednesday signed a five-year contract extension with a one-year club option to continue calling Dodger games for KWKW (1330).

Jarrin, 66, and a native of Ecuador, is in his 42nd year doing Dodger games in Spanish.
