* General Dynamics Corp. agreed to buy Primex Technologies Inc. for about $334 million in cash to enter the market for missiles. General Dynamics also will assume $170 million of Primex debt. General Dynamics said the acquisition of St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Primex will make it the largest supplier of munitions to the U.S. Army that are used in artillery and tanks.

* A majority of the Newport Beach-based Pacific Gulf Properties’ shareholders voted to support a liquidation plan, which includes the sale of the company’s industrial portfolio to CalWest Industrial Properties for $856.9 million.

* AutoNation Inc. said it sold its outdoor-advertising business to an Infinity Broadcasting Corp. unit for $104 million in cash, as the largest U.S. auto retailer focuses on new-vehicle sales. The sale of Republic Media Companies Holding Co. will result in a pretax gain of about $50 million in this quarter, AutoNation said. As part of the transaction, AutoNation agreed to a three-year, $15-million advertising contract with Infinity Outdoor.
