* LONG BEACH STATE (1-1) vs. SAN FRANCISCO (1-1), 2 p.m.--The 49ers are spending Thanksgiving weekend in Hawaii as they compete in the Big Island Invitational at Hilo. Backup point guard Michael Darrett had a strong game in the 49ers’ 84-77 victory over Air Force Tuesday with 13 points, five assists, five steals and no turnovers. However, Coach Wayne Morgan said starter Ron Johnson, who was in foul trouble, will be a factor. “He’s going to have a lot of great moments,” Morgan said. “He has some great plays ahead of him.” Morgan was encouraged by forward Vance Lawhorn’s play but said center Rudy Williams is still trying to work his way back into game shape. USF lost its opener to Nevada but won at UC Santa Barbara, 77-74, in overtime. Forward Darrell Tucker, a 6-foot-9 sophomore, could have his way against the 49ers’ interior defense. He scored 21 and 24 points in the two games to lead the Dons. Opponents have made 60.4% of their shots against Long Beach. Other teams in the eight-team tournament include 19th-ranked Oklahoma, Oregon State and Tulane.
