Police Seek 2 Men in Series of Burglaries
Los Angeles police are looking for two men in connection with 26 residential burglaries in Van Nuys since Sept. 5.
The men, one approximately 20 years old and the other about 30, have entered residences mostly through side windows that were open or pried open. They have stolen a total of $30,000 in jewelry, cash and electronics during the mornings and early afternoons, Det. Jim Rahm said.
The burglaries occur mainly at apartments and a few homes along two miles of Woodley Avenue between Sherman Way and Victory Boulevard, police said.
“I don’t know if they’re working together,” Rahm said. “We haven’t seen them together.”
According to descriptions that witnesses gave police, the 20-year-old is Latino, with black hair and a light mustache. He weighs about 130 pounds and is 5 feet 5. The 30-year-old has a dark complexion and no facial hair, weighs about 170 pounds and is about 6 feet tall. He has been seen riding an old mountain bike, police added.
Rahm asked that anyone with information on the suspects or anything suspicious in the area call (818) 756-8370.
