The city has passed a resolution encouraging the use of zero- or near zero-emission vehicles. Unlike gasoline-powered cars, zero-emission vehicles do not emit tailpipe exhaust, which cuts down on smog, according to the American Lung Association of Orange County.
Of the city’s five vehicles, one is low-emission, City Manager Fred W. Maley said. The city is looking into buying another one, he added.
