His numbers are not in Tyler Ebell’s neighborhood, but Gary Sonkur of Montclair Prep has rushed for more than 200 yards in three consecutive games entering Friday night’s game against St. Anthony at Clark Field in Long Beach.
Sonkur, a 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior, gained 89 yards and two touchdowns in 10 carries in a 55-6 victory over Clovis East in the season opener.
Since then, he has rushed for 776 yards and 10 touchdowns in 54 carries in victories against Santa Clara, Beaumont and Santa Fe Christian.
