LA PALMA
Skunks are stinking up some neighborhoods in the city, and the Police Department is looking into ways La Palma officials can help.
“We think it’s because of a construction project in Cerritos that borders our city,” said La Palma spokeswoman Tami Piscotty. “Whenever there’s a big construction project, it forces creatures out to other areas. It can be a problem in every city.”
“We have animal control services, but those are for domestic animals,” Piscotty said. “But if you have skunks, ants or possums, you can’t call a government agency to fix the problem because we can’t affect life in the wild.”
