The Orange County Fire Authority is urging residents to check the make and model of their home furnace to be sure it does not pose a substantial risk of fire.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a warning that certain furnaces manufactured by Consolidated Industries (formerly Premier Furnace Co.) are a fire hazard. The furnaces were installed exclusively in California, but exact numbers and locations for Orange County are unknown.
