Car Veers Into Pole in Lake Forest, Killing Driver
A Lake Forest woman was killed Wednesday when the car she was driving veered into a utility pole on Lake Forest Drive, authorities said.
Police did not identify the 55-year-old woman pending notification of relatives.
Lt. Larry Abbott, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, said the incident happened about 8 p.m. as the woman’s Chevrolet was traveling west at about 50 miles an hour in Lake Forest near Trabuco Road.
According to witnesses, she suddenly veered right, and the car struck the utility pole, he said. She was declared dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Abbott said.
