GAME OF THE WEEK
Philadelphia at New Jersey
When--Wednesday. Time--5 PST. TV--ESPN.
* Story line--This is a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference finals, won by the Devils after losing three of the first four games. New Jersey went on to win the Stanley Cup championship. Philadelphia went in an entirely different direction. Eric Lindros is unsigned, John LeClair underwent back surgery and Mark Recchi has been sidelined because of persistent headaches. New Jersey’s Scott Gomez, the rookie of the year last season, finally scored his first goals Monday against Florida. Alexander Mogilny, undergoing a career revival, leads the Devils with 15 points (four goals, 11 assists).
