Utilities Commission to Decide on Rate Structure
The California Public Utilities Commission today will begin the process of designing new electricity rates for consumers and businesses. On Tuesday, the commission is expected to decide how customer rates will be divided between the utilities and the state. The PUC also is scheduled to set new rules for businesses that agree to reduce power use when supplies are tight in exchange for discount rates.
