Another School Shooting
Re “Teen Fatally Shot Outside School,” March 31: Well, we have another school shooting, in Gary, Ind., another picture of relatives crying and grieving, but wait, what’s different here? This is on page A18, no front-page story, no analysis of how a student was pushed to the edge by dire circumstances, no “how could this happen” commentaries. Hmm. What’s different here? Could it be--no, say it ain’t so--that this is an inner-city story and the faces look like mine and not those in the suburbs?
