Judy Zeidler’s Passover recipes (‘100 Seders,” April 4) reach through cyberspace and greet me in Willard, an Ohio community of 7,000, where we are the only Jewish family. Growing up in Los Angeles, raising children and teaching school, I could find Passover products everywhere. Here we can buy only Manischewitz wine; there is no matzo, macaroons or gefilte fish in our markets.

We drove to Mansfield, where our small temple serves 70 families and has no rabbi, but found no products there. One of our Passover guests phoned a store in Columbus, 100 miles away, and had some items delivered by UPS. I purchased matzo when visiting my mother in Los Angeles, and will use it to make a marvelous matzo kugel, a prized recipe from Wilshire Temple’s Rabbi Emeritus Alfred Wolf and his wife Miriam. (Rabbi Wolf married us 37 years ago.)

Now comes a recipe for Salty Egg Soup, through cyberspace. I can buy eggs, I have salt. So we shall add the Zeidlers’ special dish to our Seder meal with gratitude.
