Titans Post 13th Consecutive Win
Cal State Fullerton extended its winning streak to 13 on Tuesday by defeating host Loyola Marymount, 9-5, in a nonconference baseball game.
The sixth-ranked Titans (27-10) scored six runs in the first two innings to chase starter Joshua Whitesell (3-5).
Fullerton used five pitchers, with reliever Mike Nunez (1-0), who struck out four in three hitless innings, collecting the victory. Starter Charlie Zahari gave up five hits and walked four before yielding to Nunez to open the fourth.
Center fielder Chris Stringfellow had three hits and four RBIs, and first baseman Aaron Rifkin hit his eighth homer and drove in three runs for the Titans.
Jason Corapci and Rifkin had run-scoring doubles in the first, and Rifkin hit a two-run homer in the second to put Fullerton ahead, 6-0. The Titans added a run in the third, when Stringfellow doubled home Mike Rouse, who had tripled, and two more in the ninth.
Mark Carroll had three RBIs for the Lions (15-29).
The Titans will host UCLA in a nonconference game today at 3 p.m.

CS Dominguez Hills 12-1, Hope International 0-4--Lori Mapes had a two-run single and pitcher Charity McMillan allowed no earned runs in the second game for host Hope International (8-28).
