Charges Filed Against Key Aide to Milosevic
From Times Wire Reports
A Belgrade prosecutor filed charges against a key aide of Slobodan Milosevic, paving the way for the first trial against an official of the ex-president’s regime.
Miodrag Zecevic, former manager of the French-Yugoslav Bank in Paris, was charged with “abuse of official position.”
According to the charges, he withdrew more than $270,000 from an account at the bank in 1998 and used it to bail himself out of jail in France, where he was under investigation for financial improprieties.
