3 Vandals Get 3 Years for Shooting at Car Windows
Three Glendora residents who shot out the windows of at least 200 cars in May were each sentenced Tuesday to three years in prison by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Reginald Yates in Pomona.
Brian Ashby, 20, Amanda Dakai, 25, and John Chiaramonte, 19, had pleaded no contest to 50 counts of felony vandalism. The three went on a Mother’s Day vandalism rampage through a handful of cities, including La Verne, Diamond Bar, Glendora and Covina.
They told Glendora police they shot out the windows because they liked the sound it made.
Ashby and Dakai also were sentenced to an additional eight months each for forgery, burglary and grand theft in an unrelated check fraud case, Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Andrea Pott said.
Together, the three were ordered to pay more than $43,000, the cost of repairing the damage they did to their victims’ cars.
