Man Confesses in Official’s Slaying
From Times Wire Reports
A Nigerian man said he was promised about $8,800 as one of eight gunmen who killed Justice Minister Bola Ige, according to police.
Ige was shot Sunday night by gunmen who entered his home.
Oyo State Police Commissioner Mike Okuo told a news conference that a 27-year-old man who turned himself in Wednesday had confessed to his part in the killing, naming some of his accomplices and those who hired them.
The commissioner declined to say who the man said hired him or whether the killing was politically motivated.
