Assembly Offers Grads Fellowships
The state Assembly is accepting applications for its annual fellowship program.
The 11-month fellowship offers college graduates the opportunity to work as full-time Assembly staff members on fiscal and policy matters. Fellows also participate in a weekly academic seminar with legislators, senior staff members, journalists, lobbyists and government officials.
The 18 fellows who participate in the 2001-2002 program will be paid a monthly stipend of $1,882 and will earn 12 graduate credits from Cal State Sacramento, which administers the program with the Assembly.
Applications are available at the Ventura County district offices of Assembly members Tony Strickland (R-Moorpark) and Hannah-Beth Jackson (D--Santa Barbara).
To qualify, applicants must have their undergraduate degree by October 2001. No specific major is preferred. Individuals with advanced degrees, or in mid-career, are also urged to apply.
For information, call Jackson’s Ventura office at 648-9943 or Strickland’s Camarillo office at 987-5195. Applications are due Feb. 28.
