David Kopay’s homosexuality is his choice. Bill Plaschke’s column publicizing Kopay’s choice [Dec. 29] is also the editorial choice of the L.A. Times.
Being a homosexual is a sporting event? Who gives a damn about Kopay’s choice, except possibly another homosexual?

Thanks for the great story on Dave Kopay. He worked in obscurity for many years at Linoleum City, but as a young gay man, because of his courage, I knew he was gay too. He was the only positive role model I had to reflect on during that awkward time in my life. I am glad you saluted him.
