EToys Debt Cuts RemedyTemp Bottom Line

Aliso Viejo staffing firm RemedyTemp Inc., saddled with unpaid invoices from struggling online company EToys Inc., posted lower net income and revenue for the fiscal first quarter.

The company, which operates as Remedy Intelligent Staffing, earned $2.9 million, or 32 cents a share, for the three months ended Dec. 31, including a $2-million charge in connection with EToys’ failure to pay. A year earlier, the company earned $3.9 million, or 44 cents a share.

RemedyTemp warned earlier this month that it would take the $2-million charge.

Revenue declined slightly to $149.5 million from $150.1 million.
