2 Disneyland Rides Shut in Spill Scare
Two Disneyland rides were temporarily closed Friday after several employees complained of illness and a possible chlorine spill was reported near the Big River area of the park, authorities said.
The Anaheim Fire Department and a hazardous materials team were called shortly after noon. Department spokeswoman Maria Sabol said no spill was discovered.
Chela Castano-Lenahan, a spokeswoman for Disneyland, said nine employees were treated by the park’s first aid staff and returned to work. The Mark Twain Riverboat in Frontierland and the rafts to Tom Sawyer Island were closed for a few hours as precaution.
