Two Men Killed When Their Car Hits Truck
Two men were killed Friday night when their car struck a bobtail truck on an offramp of the eastbound Riverside Freeway, authorities said.
The accident happened at 7:54 p.m. on the Brookhurst Street offramp, said Officer Mark Reeves of the California Highway Patrol. The two men, who had not been identified, were in a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier that exited too fast, Reeves said, slamming into the rear of the truck, which had slowed or stopped on the ramp.
Emergency crews reported that both men had died at the scene. Information on the condition of the truck driver was unavailable.
The offramp was closed for two hours while wreckage was cleared.
