Help Is Online for Assessment Challenges
Orange County officials are encouraging residents who intend to challenge the assessed value of their property to visit a new Web page.
An interactive program that helps those filing such a challenge is available at https://www.oc.ca.gov/cob/ through this year’s assessment filing period, which ends Sept. 17. The program offers step-by-step instructions and will warn the user of any errors once the form is filled in.
While the form still must be printed out and delivered to the Board of Assessment Appeals Division, county officials say they hope to have online filing available by next year. Meanwhile, the paper application will still be available.
For help with an appeal, contact the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board at (714) 834-2331.
