Taking Fitness From Sea to Shining Sea
A New York company is offering a health-club pass for travelers that covers more than 600 centers in the U.S. and Canada. Since its little-publicized soft launch nearly a year ago, the World Pass for Fitness has signed up about 2,000 members, a spokeswoman said.
For an annual fee of $79, members can visit any participating club up to 15 times a year, provided it’s at least 75 miles from their home. A caveat: Although the roster of clubs includes major names like Gold’s Gym and World Gym, city-by-city coverage can be spotty (i.e., no clubs in the city of Los Angeles, three in New York City, five in Arlington, Va.).
