Candle Starts Buena Park Blaze; Fireman Injured
A firefighter was injured and seven residents were displaced Monday after a burning candle started a blaze that gutted a home on Clover Way in Buena Park, causing $150,000 in damage, fire officials said.
Firefighter John Stephan was taken to West Anaheim Medical Center, where he was treated and released, said Capt. Kirk Summers, spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.
The blaze started shortly before 1 p.m. after a resident left a candle burning in a bedroom, authorities said. It took 25 firefighters less than 30 minutes to control the fire, Summers said.
