Heist Suspect Caught After Tire Goes Flat
A man suspected of robbing a credit union was captured when his car got a flat tire, police said.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect in a tan Honda Accord on the southbound San Diego Freeway near Sand Canyon Avenue. “It was just a stroke of luck,” sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Doan said.
Adam W. Lyman, 20, of Lake Forest had a handgun, pantyhose and money with him, Doan said. The man who robbed the Orange County Credit Union on Mercury Road about 11 a.m. had pantyhose over his head, witnesses told police. Sheriff’s deputies used a helicopter to follow him.
Doan said Lyman also may be a suspect in armed robberies at three fast-food restaurants.
