Biolase Technology Posts 4th-Quarter Loss

Biolase Technology Inc., a San Clemente developer of dental, cosmetic, aesthetic and surgical products, incurred a fourth-quarter net loss of $643,391, or 3 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $2 million, or 11 cents a share. Sales more than doubled to a record $3.7 million from $1.8 million.

For the year, the company lost $3.7 million, or 19 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $4.8 million, or 28 cents a share, for 1999. Sales rose 39% to $9.7 million.
