SOUTHERN SECTION BASKETBALL
Van Nuys Montclair Prep 67, Huntington Beach Brethren Christian 43--Forward Eshaya Murphy and center Jasmine Wesley combined for 53 points and 27 rebounds, leading Montclair Prep to the V-AA title--its first in girls’ basketball.
Oak Park 71, Morro Bay 64--The No. 2-seeded Eagles (23-5) won the IV-AA title by making 11 three-point shots.
Karena Bonds scored 31 points for Morro Bay (19-6).
Los Angeles Pilgrim 71, Palos Verdes Estates Rolling Hills 60--In the V-A final, Pilgrim (20-6) won its third consecutive section title, and its fifth in six years.
Amber Cunningham scored 28 points and had 10 rebounds, and Danielle Carter scored 19 points for Pilgrim.
Lauren Stayton scored 24 points and Charmaine Jones had 20 for Rolling Hills Prep (21-4).
