Vote on Condoms
Re “Business Owners Fighting Condom Distribution Plan,” March 1: The proposition is presented as a health crisis primarily concentrated in West Hollywood in the Yes on A campaign’s literature, while AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein refers to people coming to the Sunset Strip from across the county. One of my objections to Measure A has been that if indeed it is a health issue, then the funding should be administered by the county Health Department or the state.
However, my primary objection is that I really wonder what happened to personal responsibility. Condoms are readily available by purchase and free through the current voluntary distribution program. It is the individual’s responsibility to procure and use them.
