Renters to Homeowners
A seminar for renters who want to become homeowners will be held by the Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, which has several home-improvement grants, matching programs and low-interest loans aimed at bringing more first-time buyers into designated and improving neighborhoods. The seminar also will cover the differences between being pre-approved and pre-qualified, how to fix credit problems and how to select a Realtor.

Home and Garden Tour
Art Walk XXIII, a biennial home tour presented by the San Marino League, will feature four architecturally significant houses and their gardens in Pasadena, South Pasadena and San Marino, including a home built in 1952 for industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss with furniture by Sam Maloof; a Monterey Colonial, built in 1922, with African and Asian art; a Pasadena home designed by Robert Henry Ainsworth in 1927; and a Pasadena house built in 1948 to resemble a Roman Empire villa.

Pasadena Manor Tour
The Medieval Manor Houses of Pasadena, Pasadena Heritage’s spring home tour, will feature five homes ranging from a cottage to an English Tudor manor by such architects as Donald Wilkinson, Aubrey St. Clair and David Ogilvie. (An Ogilvie-designed home is pictured below.) Strolling musicians will perform Renaissance music, and tour sponsor Glabman’s Furniture will present a lecture on “Historic Wood Floors From English Country Homes.”
