Teen Queried About Chat Room Threats
An Oregon teenager was questioned about Internet chat room threats that forced the cancellation of classes in a school district near White Plains, N.Y.
The youth admitted making the threats but told investigators it was an innocent hoax, police said.
Officials in the Edgemont district in Westchester County canceled classes at three schools after a student received an Internet threat about “a lot of bodies” at Edgemont High School. The district serves 1,700 students and has 150 staff members.
The teen’s identity and hometown were withheld because no charges had been filed.
