Every little boy dreams of coming to bat in the ninth inning with the bases loaded in the seventh game of the World Series. You play imaginary Wiffle ball games in the backyard with your best friend, and it’s always this identical setting. So on Sunday night, there was Luis Gonzalez, the Diamondbacks’ best hitter, facing Mariano Rivera, the best reliever in baseball, with the bases jammed in the ninth. Simply awesome. My wife now understands why I am a sports fan.
