Local Firefighters Join Annual Toy Drive
For the ninth consecutive year, the Ventura County Fire Department will participate in the Spark of Love Toy Drive, which collects thousands of presents for children.
New, unwrapped presents and sporting equipment can be dropped off between Monday and Dec. 28 at any county fire station or Sav-On drugstore, said Sandi Wells, the department’s chief spokeswoman.
The drive includes fire departments throughout Southern California working in conjunction with a Los Angeles television station.
Last year, Ventura County firefighters collected more than 15,000 toys, Wells said.
The county’s Human Services Agency will distribute the presents to children.
