Oil Pipeline Leak Threatens Rio Beach

Thousands of gallons of oil have leaked from an underwater pipeline near Rio de Janeiro, threatening one of the city’s popular beaches, Brazilian authorities said.
About 26,000 gallons of oil spilled into Rio’s Guanabara Bay before the leak was stopped, and about a quarter of it had been cleaned up by Saturday, officials said.
